💥 Ian Urbina and his team’s latest investigation was published in partnership with The New Yorker on the extensive use of forced labour and environmental crimes in the global seafood supply, specifically within China’s distant water fishing fleet and processing plants. The first piece focuses on at-sea issues. The second piece focuses on issues on land.
💥 Jay Richardson published a new piece about biodiversity surveys in an area earmarked for mining waste in Norway and the history of rhetoric around mining waste in the North of Norway.
💥 Gladstone Taylor recently reported for Yes Magazine about the largest mangrove forest and protected area in Jamaica. (It's part of a larger ocean reporting series supported by the Pulitzer Center)
💥 Maurício Ferro spent five months interviewing many Brazilian experts in marine acoustic pollution to investigate a less-known threat and its effects on a small species of fish; published by Ocean Noise Pollution (with captions in English).
💥 María Elorza Saralegui’s latest piece on the restoration efforts to recover the lagoon Mar Menor for the BBC Future Planet.
💥 Former ERC grantees Stefano Valentino was awarded the Lorenzo Natali Prize along with Emanuela Barbiroglio for their article entitled European green finance is paying for deforestation in Indonesia: the case of Michelin
